OmniBus II Series Interface Cards

OmniBus II PCIe cards, part of of the Omnibus family, feature a modular design that allows you to order cards with the combination of  avionics protocols that closely match the requirements of your application. These high-performance cards interface to multiple protocols including MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429/708/717, Serial and Discrete I/O.

Lx5 avionics interface cards can be ordered in either the PCIe or PCI form factor and models are available with either the MIL-STD-1553 protocol or with ARINC 429 and/or ARINC 717.

Modular OmniBus II Series

The OmniBus II PCIe is the next-generation of Astronics' popular OmniBus product with faster I/O and processing capabilities. With the newest advanced set of MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC 429 modules, users can verify wave form compatibilities, test functions of bus shorts and opens, and—when combined with our CoPilot® software—perform lab, production and flight test verification and simulation right out of the box.

Lx5 Series

The LE1553-5 (PCIe) and LP1553-5 (PCI) are personal computer expansion cards for communicating with MIL-STD-1553 systems. These feature-rich interfaces provide programmable data buffers and deep built-in memory. Models offer 1 to 4 dual redundant MIL-STD-1553 channels, 16 input/output avionics level discretes, and IRIG time synchronization/generation. MIL-STD-1553 capability includes BC, RT, and/or Monitor.

Lx5 Series

The LE429-5 (PCIe) and LP429-5 (PCI) are personal computer expansion cards for communicating with ARINC 429 and ARINC 717 systems. These feature-rich interfaces provide programmable dual redundant data buffers and deep built-in memory. Models offer 4 to 32 ARINC 429 channels, and up to 4 ARINC 717 channels, 16 input/output avionics level discretes, and IRIG time synchronization/generation.

How it works...

OmniBus II PXIe cards include an array of functional features with the base configuration. Avionics I/O is added through the use of interchangeable modules. When ordering OmniBus II cards, you can specify the combination of modules for the exact mix of I/O you need. OmniBus II cards can accept a maximum of two modules, and each module has its own circuitry to handle the channels and protocols associated with it. (Lx5 models do not include this modular capability.)

Serial modules include custom baud rates.

Multi-function channels have protocol error injection capability and can simultaneously be a Bus Controller (BC), Bus Monitor (BM), and up to 32 Remote Terminals (RTs).
