Product Lifecycle Stages
Astronics Ballard Technology has established a reputation for long-life products and industry-leading customer support. A high priority is placed on keeping products in production and supporting those products as long as possible to ensure customers benefit from years of reliable service from their purchase.
As product designs mature, newer products are typically introduced that provide advantages in terms of performance and value. Older products may also be affected by component availability issues, affecting cost and manufacturability. The lifecycle stages shown in the accompanying graphic provide a way to communicate the current status and availability of Astronics Ballard Technology products. These stages are described in more detail below. It is important to note that products in the "Production" lifecycle stage should be specified for all new applications. Please contact Astronics Ballard Technology for further assistance.

More information is presented below for each product lifecycle stage. Each section contains a link that will take you to a page for that lifecycle stage where you can view the associated products, download specifications, and see recommended replacement products.
Production Lifecycle Stage
A product in the "Production" lifecycle stage is one that is currently in full production and available for sale. It can be freely specified for new and existing installations and programs.

Legacy Lifecycle Stage
A product in the "Legacy" lifecycle stage is one that is still in active production, but in diminished quantities. These mature products should not be specified for new programs. This stage is intended to support existing installations and programs. A product in the Production lifecycle stage should generally be specified for new applications.
Visit the Legacy products page to view associated products, download specifications, and see recommended replacement products for legacy models.
There are currently no products in the Legacy lifecycle stage.
Obsolete Lifecycle Stage
A product in the "Obsolete" lifecycle stage is one that is no longer in active production. It should not be specified for new programs. Products in this stage may still be able to be manufactured, but parts are likely not in inventory, so lead times will likely be greatly extended. Also, repair options may be limited. A product in the Production lifecycle stage should be specified for all new applications.
Visit the Obsolete products page to view associated products, download specifications, and see recommended replacement products for obsolete models.
There are currently no products in the Obsolete lifecycle stage.
End-of-Life Lifecycle Stage
A product in the "End-of-Life" lifecycle stage is one that is no longer available for sale. It can not be specified for new programs. Products in this stage can no longer be manufactured likely due to the unavailability of key board-level components. A product in the Production lifecycle stage should be specified for all new applications.
Visit the End-of-Life products page to view associated products, download specifications, and see recommended replacement products for end-of-life models.
