Ballard industry-standard PC/104 compliant cards enable embedded computers to interface with a variety of avionics databuses. Choose from three product lines and a wide choice of models — ranging from simple, single-protocol, low channel-count cards to complex, multi-protocol, high channel-count cards.
Models are available in PCIe/104, PCI/104-Express, and PC/104-Plus configurations. Protocols include MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429/708/717, Serial, and Discrete I/O depending on the model. Extended temperature range is standard, and conformal coating is an option. This wide selection allows the most cost effective solution to be used on each application.

PE1000 Series Multi-Protocol Interfaces
PCIe/104, PCI/104-Express compliant
Ballard PE1000 interface cards use our time-tested 5th generation avionics protocol engines with bus mastering and a large 32-MB built-in memory to yield high performance. All models include sixteen avionics level input/output discretes and IRIG time synchronization/generation.

PM1553-5 Series MIL-STD-1553 Interfaces
PC/104-Plus compliant
PM1553-5 interfaces have the latest 5th generation protocol engine and bus mastering to yield high performance. The cards are fully compliant with the PC/104-Plus standard. All models include sixteen avionics level input/output discretes and IRIG time synchronization/ generation.

PM429-2 Series ARINC 429/717 Interfaces
PC/104-Plus compliant
PM429-2 models provide up to 16 ARINC 429 channels and up to 4 ARINC 717 channels. The cards are fully compliant with the PC/104-Plus standard. All models include sixteen avionics level input/output discretes and IRIG time synchronization/ generation.

Multi-function channels have protocol error injection capability and can simultaneously be a Bus Controller (BC), Bus Monitor (BM), and up to 32 Remote Terminals (RTs).
Single-function channels can be configured
in software as either a Bus Controller (BC), a Bus Monitor (BM), or up to 32 Remote Terminals (RTs).
