Application

L-801 Airport Rotating Beacon is a medium-intensity light, designed primarily for night operation as identification and location markers for civil airports. The beacon appears, at any point throughout 360 degrees in azimuth, as a light source emitting flashes of white and/or colored light at specified rates, colors, and intensities.

Features

  • Patented belt-drive system eliminates the lubrication required by conventional gear-drive beacons (U.S. Pat. 5,339,224).
  • Patented liquid-filled lamp connector, eliminating the slip rings and brushes found on conventional beacons (U.S.Pat. 5,816,678).
  • Two 13,000 lumen, 150 watt pulse-start metal-halide lamps.
  • 10,000 hour typical lamp life (2-3 years).
  • One clear lens, one aviation green lens.
  • No maintenance except lamp replacement.
  • All moving parts are permanently lubricated.
  • Impedance-protected motor eliminates burnouts.
  • Lamps preset 5 °C above horizontal, adjustable.
  • 12 RPM rotation, 24 flashes/minute.
  • Weatherproof steel cabinet, powder coated international orange.

The beacon appears, at any point throughout 360 degrees in azimuth, as a light source emitting flashes of white and/or colored light at specified rates, colors, and intensities.

The Beacon Tipdown Pole provides a tall, sturdy mounting platform for an L-801 or L-802 Rotating Beacon.

Product Information

The Beacon Tipdown Pole provides a tall, sturdy mounting platform for an L-801 or L-802 Rotating Beacon. The Tipdown Pole is center-hinged, allowing simple, easy access to the beacon without climbing or using a lift truck.

Features

  • Available in several heights from 25 to 55 feet.
  • Mounting plate accommodates a lightning rod and one singular or dual L-810 obstruction light.
  • Easily raised and lowered by one person, using an internal hand-operated winch.
  • Removable winch handle.
  • Counter-weighted upper pole shaft.

Beacon Tower

The Beacon Tower is designed for tubular steel beacon towers. It is manufactured using 16 sided, vertically welded, formed steel shaft sections, made of high strength, low alloy steel.
